I recently graduated from the University of Dundee with a BSc(Hons) in Product Design with First-Class Honours.

Throughout my four years at DJCAD, I have developed a strong foundation in design. Working on various projects allowed me to explore product development, physical making, coding and electronics, packaging design, graphics and visual communication, and so much more. This has ensured skills in various programs such as the Adobe Suite and various CAD modelling software.

A notable highlight in my journey so far was my semester abroad at the University of Technology, Sydney, where I learnt invaluable skills that contributed to my personal and professional growth. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity changed my outlook on design and highlighted the value of embracing new ways of learning, stepping outside your comfort zone, and connecting with new people.

About me.

My name is Bethany, I am a Product Designer, Maker, Problem Solver and Creative Thinker who aims to make the world a little better through design.

Main Values

Throughout my projects, I have always utilised both physical and digital design methods simultaneously and found this method produces the best results. In a fast-moving digital world, I value the physicality of Product Design and the tangible interactions between user and object.

However, I also value sustainability and ensuring that design has a purpose. I believe that design can often inspire overconsumption, and the human desire to have the new best product on the market can be detrimental to our planet. I enjoy exploring ways to combat this, such as modularity and designing with repairability and upgradability at the forefront of the design process.
