Liora.
A floor lamp with the aim of making everyday objects more meaningful through light and colour, with a focus on playful user interaction and customisation.
Introduction

Liora is my Personal Honours Project, A solo project completed between October 2024 and May 2025 with a completely open brief.

In 100 words...
Liora is a floor lamp with the aim of making everyday objects more meaningful through light and colour.

The concept is inspired by the emotional connection we feel towards handmade products; it aims to replicate that feeling with ‘ordinary’ objects.

It encourages users to be playful with their own objects by allowing them to display each object in an engaging way, making every piece a focal point. With movable shelves and colour-changing shades, the design is highly customisable and adaptable to each individual.

Through continued interaction, Liora becomes a unique representation of the user, capturing the colours of their treasured objects and reflecting them back into their space.
